A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME

I was born and raised in Southern California, which means my childhood was spent outside from sunup to sundown. Whether I was in the dirt or the waves; I was endlessly surrounded by what I now know to be the greatest design work of all time, the beauty of this earth. I credit Mother Nature as the humbling force that has kept me grounded and continues to push my creativity.

As a young child, I was drawing characters from the morning cartoon shows I would watch with my dad. A few years later, my friends and I were designing BMX tracks, paintball courses and skate ramps in the neighborhood- all of which gave my neighbors a good scare. I never gave it a second thought that the things that came so natural to me could become a lifelong career.

I proceeded to attend Arizona State University, and graduated with my Bachelors degree in Business Administration. Post college, I worked as an online marketing consultant for business owners who needed help growing their brand awareness.

I felt accomplished, but unsatisfied. I was too scared to become a designer. I wasn’t scared that I wouldn’t succeed, but rather that a passion would become work and no longer bring me great joy.

A couple years later, I realized it was time to take my life-long passion and turn it into a fulfilling career, and I went back to school. I attended the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandise, which gave me the technical training I needed. I was learning from some of the top designers in the industry. Taking full advantage of this opportunity, I graduated FIDM with cum laude honors.

I quickly realized that going back to school was not starting over, but adding another tool to my belt. Actually, it was a very smooth transition. I already had the business acumen and experience on consulting with business owners with their marketing strategies. Now, my new skillset further complimented those abilities in building my own graphic solution for any communicational issue, as well as, write my own code for the web without any sort of template or assistance.

It’s an extremely exciting time for me, to say the least. I love to design. I love to design creative pieces that are both intelligent and clean. To this point, most of my work and experience has been to build brand awareness through print, social media and web design. I am very excited to see what the future has in store for me and to collaborate with other creative minds.

Thanks for visiting my site.
